MIDI: Milan duo’s official takeover of San Siro stadium will be postponed to next week

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the official acquisition of the San Siro Stadium by the Milan duo will be postponed to next week.

The signing of the final contract to transfer ownership of the San Siro Stadium to a new company jointly owned by Inter and Milan will be postponed until next week. The original planned signing date was between October 29 and 31, but has been postponed to after next Monday.

Reports indicate that the delay is neither the fault of the Milan city government nor the club. The key sticking point is the technical time required to obtain the necessary financial guarantees. It is understood that before the formal signing, a total amount of approximately 100 million euros must be transferred from the relevant banks to the municipal treasury.

This delay made the schedule very tight. The key deadline is November 10, when the Heritage Authority's building restrictions on the second tier of the stadium's stands come into effect, which will prevent them from being demolished.

However, reports pointed out that both parties to the transaction are still expected to complete the transaction in a thrilling manner at the last minute. Meanwhile, a legal battle continues among citizens' committees opposed to the project, which have appealed to the National Notary Commission in an attempt to block the deed on the grounds of uncertain dates for historical restrictions and loss of public finances.
