Morton: Ligue 1 is as fast as the Premier League, I need to adapt to it and understand the penalty standards

England midfielder Morton, who moved from Liverpool to Lyon this summer, talked about the characteristics of Ligue 1 in an interview.
Morton first said: "In the Champions League I have participated in, the game focuses more on technology and tactics and the pace is slower; in the English Champions League, which I most often participate in, the game focuses more on physical confrontation; as for the Premier League, it is a combination of skills and tactics and physical. The Ligue 1 is also somewhat similar. There are many strong, fast and very smart players here. This is a high-level league with the pace as fast as the Premier League."
Morton has played in the French League four times this season and has received a red card for behind-the-spot tackle in the game where Lyon lost 1-3 to Rennes away. Morton continued: "It's hard to say whether I should have been sent off at the time, but I should have been smarter when tackled. I need to adapt to this league, understand the referee's decision standards, know what can be done and what can't be done. I did a very 'British' tackle at the time."
