Today Warriors GM Dunleavy accepted an interview with the media.
According to previous reports, Melton is undergoing rehabilitation for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and will be re-evaluated four weeks later.
Dunleavy said: "His return will be earlier than expected, and although he is likely to not catch up with the start of the regular season, he will not be out of the game for a long time. He is actively recovering, and it is important to ensure that he is fully healthy - given that he has proved his worth last season, we must ensure that he can meet the second half of the season at his best, rather than a hasty comeback."
