Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison appeared at the game. In an interview with the media, he talked about the injury recovery of the team's defender Kyrie Irving:
"Kyrie (Irving)'s recovery progress exceeded the original plan. We had expected this to happen from his way and attitude towards rehabilitation. Although he really wanted to make a comeback as soon as possible, we don't want him to be too hasty."
In early March this year, Irving suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.
