According to TA, Arsenal legend Ramsey joined the Mexican team Cougars by himself.
Ramsey has completed a medical examination arranged by the Mexican Cougar and is expected to sign a one-year contract on Tuesday, with the option to renew.
The 34-year-old turned down interest from Saudi Arabia and UAE clubs and chose to join the Mexican Cougars. The Cougars ranked 10th in the league last season, and the new season opening match will face Santos Laguna on July 13.
Ramsey played for Arsenal and his contract with Cardiff City has expired. Ramsey returned to Cardiff City in 2023 and served as interim head coach in the final three games of the 2024/25 Championship, but the team unfortunately relegated to the League One. When taking over as interim coach in April, Ramsey said that he does not intend to serve as Cardiff head coach for a long time and still hopes to continue playing football and strive for the 2026 World Cup.
In his 11 years at Arsenal, Ramsey made 369 appearances, scored 64 goals and assisted 60 times. He also played 70 games for Juventus and 34 games for Nice, and then returned to Cardiff City.
