Recently, on the DLLS Mavs podcast, Mavericks minority shareholder Mark Cuban talked about his decision to sell his majority stake to Miriam Adelson in 2023.
Cuban admitted that he hoped to open the sale process to more potential buyers at the beginning.
"I don't regret selling the team, what I regret is the way I do things," Cuban said. "Will I still sell the team? Yes, the reason is exactly the same as what I have said a million times. But will I still use the same way? Absolutely not."
"I will take it out and bid publicly. But I didn't do that, so it doesn't matter."
In November 2023, Cuban sold most of the Mavericks' equity to Adelson and his family, with a valuation of about $3.5 billion.
